What's the difference between Jet A-1 and AVGAS?

AVGAS is for piston aircraft (DC-3), Jet-A is for turboprops, turbojets etc. Major airlines stock up on Jet-A, while many bush pilots or old aircraft flyers will rely on AVGAS.
