Completetly uninstall VAFS5.

Go to the C:\program files\vafs5\ folder and remove any files left in there.

Download the full install and install as administrator.

Run the actual VAFS5.exe as administrator.

Once you do this the updater should not run at all.

Never ran into any major problems, No installation, configuration or data upload problems. We were, however using a very small and, I would guess, old VAFS4 data.base In my case FS9 was my FS version until I went to FSX exclusively.

All programs were installed on default drives, default folders on a rather "gamer friendly" Windows 7 X64 machine with no WideFS installed. Many pilots probably have a pretty good sampling of payware A/C, scenery and Utilities, but no one has all of the stuff available. Anomalies were reported and addressed quickly. In a word, the BETA was very stable and at least the features available for testing seemed to work.

The release last week with a "live" DB, hundreds of users unfamiliar with the program and with an infinite mix of configurations, languages add-ons and hardware presented a much more challenging scenario. Many of the "bugs" identified have already been addressed and resolved. Many of the "bugs" reported were really procedural problems, many caused by Vista/WIN7 Admin requirements and user unfamiliarity with a new program. New ones, "bugs" and "other" pop up everyday as you can see in this FORUM.

With a bit of time and user experience along with our patience, Mike will be able to address these issues and make the appropriate adjustments to give us a stable and reliable platform.

Did you completely uninstall VAFS5 and then remove the C:\Program Files\VAFS5 folder itself?

Here is the link for the full install.

Man I have no idea what that is.... unless you did not get the full install.

What is the file size of that file.

I checked the file size to find that it was 2.66MB while the original should be 8.something ...
